Picture catch up!

Our first tree!! We are finally getting our landscaping started.. YAY!!
Phase one of our landscaping... we still need to add mulch and edging

This was Hobie's Halloween costume

Cuddles the hot dog!!

We practiced for our Christmas card!! Hobie was less than thrilled... LOL :) Kendall (sister-in-law) will be taking our Christmas card picture on Saturday. She is really excited b/c she is trying to build her portfolio.

Our house is decorated and lights are up on the house. It all looks SOOO cute! We will be putting our tree up this weekend. We are going to buy a REAL tree. I don't know anyone who buys REAL trees anymore... seems like everyone has allergies. I always had a real tree growing up and it was fun (except for the mess). Drew and I are really excited about going to pick it out. It has been really fun decorating our first home this year.

December will be full of activities for us. While decorating our tree Friday we will also be watching our niece-dog, Lucy since Brooks (brother) and Kendall will be attending their Christmas parties. Saturday we have our Sunday School Christmas party. It's a progressive dinner and white elephant exchange. Next weekend Drew and I will be traveling to Kansas to celebrate early Christmas with my Aunt Cindy and family. They will not be here for Christmas this year b/c they will be in New Zealand (I'm jealous!!). Brooks and Kendall will be watching our kiddos. I really hope they are good for them (I guess we will get the first little taste of it ourselves this weekend). We might go to a ugly Christmas sweater party, we'll attend the annual Rutledge Celebration, my Grandparents will be in from Florida, and we'll go drive around to look at Christmas lights. This is truly the best time of the year... I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!! :) Christmas shopping is more than half done, I just need to do the wrapping.

They Flipped the Switch!!

103.7 has officially started playing NOTHING but Christmas music. I'm SOOOOOOOO excited! I can't tell you how much I love Christmas music, it makes me fell so cheerful and happy! :) You might think it's too early, but not me.

I know I'm overdue for a blog about what all has been going on but life has been so busy and blogging would be just one more thing I have to do. This weekend I had a Uppercase Living show, finally got my house cleaned, and did some landscaping. I will post some pictures soon. I still need to let everyone know how my Halloween went.

It was fantastic!!

I had one of the best weekends I've had in a long time! Rundown....
Friday- I came home from work and I talked Drew in to going to going to the movies (one that he didn't want to see). We went and saw Fireproof, Christian based movie about marriage. I really didn't know a whole lot about the moving going in to it, but let me just tell you it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Yes, I'll admit the acting was a little cheesy, but the message was great. This is a movie for ANYONE, single, newly married, forever married, divorced... whatever. It made me want to do better for my marriage and work a little harder. I'll tell you after being married for 6 months and 1 week, marriage isn't easy. Love is a choice, not a feeling. Anyways, I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but it's AMAZING. Go see it... tell everyone about it... and bring your Kleenex. P.S.- I noticed when we were leaving the movie every couple was holding hands... so cute. :) Drew liked it too! Afterwards we went to a new, local restaurant called Pourhouse. It was good, I have no complaints.

Saturday- I was asked to judge a Halloween costume contest for a barrel race that was across the street from our house. (side note: I used to participate in this contest every year back when I used to barrel race. This is a contest where the contestant (rider) and horse dresses up) The competition was pretty stiff this year! 1st place went to the horse and rider both dressed up like a skunk, 2nd was Princess Fiona (rider) and Shrek (horse), and 3rd was Cinderella being pulled in an actual carriage by her pony. Others were the headless horse man, robin hood, bride & groom, mummy.... They were all so good!! I will see if I can get any pics. We stuck around and watched my mom and everyone else run. We really didn't do much the rest of the afternoon besides lounge around... I think I went to bed around 7:30 or so.. HA!!

Sunday- We went to church and came home so Drew could watch the football game. That afternoon we had plans to go over to the Rutledge's to have the annual pumpkin carving contest. I have to say, ours turned out really great!! I wanted to do something really creative so I got online and started hunting for a really good template. Well, I found a dachshund that looked just like our little Cuddles! It was a little ambitious but I thought I'd give it a try. I cleaned out my pumpkin and poked most of the dots, but Drew did most of the carving.... I could be dangerous w/ a knife!! This wasn't your typical pumpkin carving, this template told you to just take the skin off of the pumpkin. Everyone else's pumpkin looked good too. I especially liked Kendall's Frankenstein!! :) Ages ranged from 5-50!! It was good to get out to the Rutledges to visit, it had been a while since we have been out there.... lots of good food and friends!! :)

Doesn't it look just like Cuddles?!
All the pumpkins!

Kendall's Frankenstein... one of my favs!

Anyways, that is your weekend wrap up. sorry to ramble, but I just had to share in all my excitement!!

A wedding!!

Last weekend my family and I ventured down to Dallas for a wedding. Even after being married and having a wedding of my own I still love them! :) However, I don't think I would like to go through all the planning again. I went to my friend, Mary's, wedding who I've been friends with since I was 2. I don't think I have ever been to a wedding in Dallas but it was sure pretty. The ceremony was held in a pretty chapel and the reception was at the old Planet Hollywood downtown. Some of my favorite details were instead of having the traditional guest book they took Polaroids of all the guests and put them in this book, then they had you sign next to your picture.

I also loved how there were 8 cakes!!! They were all so yummy! :)

Fall is here!

These are our kiddos! Cuddles and Hobie

Fall is finally here and I'm actually getting excited about the cooler weather approaching. I love getting to change stuff up around the house decorating for fall and switching up the wardrobe! This week I played POKENO with the girls. I won 2 prizes , since it was FALL themed I got to decorate the house even more! :)
One of the gifts I won!

I'm sure we'll make a trip to the pumpkin patch or Calloway's soon to get our pumpkins. I don't want to get them too soon because I don't want them to rot. Last year we got a 'warty pumpkin,' just a pumpkin that looked like it had a disease, but it was cute!

First Blog: About us

Ok... so I was pressured and gave into Facebook and Myspace, and now I've been pressured to create a blog by my sister-in-law, Kendall. So here we go!!

I am now a "Kerestine". Drew and I were Married April, 19 2008 (tomorrow will be 5 months) and our life is definitely chaotic! LOL We just built our first home in Aubrey, TX and we are still trying to make it our home. Our fence is finally up and stained. Drew surprised me yesterday and stained our shutters!! :) Married life for us is great!

Drew works at Peterbilt and I work all the way in Westlake for a veterinary distributor. I also just started a new side job selling Uppercase Living. Check out my website
http://kelsie.uppercaseliving.net It's decorative vinyl lettering and it's been a great way to decorate our new house. I LOVE IT!!

We also have 2 children (dogs) Hobie, a Australian Shepherd and Cuddles, a Dachshund. They keep us on our toes!! They love to dig up our back yard, chew on our base boards, and PLAY PLAY PLAY!!
