Jon & Kate Divorcing???

I don't want to believe it!!! But the picture is proof enough for me. I love Jon & Kate plus 8. This makes me so sad... those poor children. Do you think them being on camera and their life publicly displayed did it??? Drew does NOT like Kate, he says she's bossy and controlling. I guess we will wait to see if they come back with another season. I'm at a loss for words.. SOOO SAD :( You can read about it more here.

Hellooooooo

From San Antonio!!!! Drew and I arrived safely and we are on our way to the Alamo. I have never been there so it will be interesting to see. Drew is the history buff so I'm sure I will be in for a history lesson... YAY! Ok, so I was being sarcastic. I hated history in school... one of my worst subjects. Maybe I can talk Drew into some shopping! :)

I will have to tell you later about our adventures in getting to Austin... it was interesting....

FIESTA!!

Dinner for 2: Silver Fox Cafe

Drew and I like to treat ourselves to a NICE dinner a couple times a year and since it was our first wedding anniversary we thought it was reason to celebrate!! Drew selected Silver Fox and I couldn't have been more than thrilled!! Drew hadn't been there before and I have eaten there once a couple of years ago. Silver Fox has 5 locations in the DFW area. If you aren't familiar with them, they are part of another well known fancy steak house called III Forks which also has a couple of locations for you Florida readers.

If you are looking for some awesome steak or seafood you've come to the right place!! We were more than pleased with our anniversary dinner and left fat & happy! We arrived to Silver Fox and were greeted by the doorman, then greeted with a 'happy anniversary' from the hostess. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation but were taken immediately to our seats, so that was nice!

What we ate: So, Silver Fox/ III Forks is well known for the III Forks Salad which consists of mixed greens, blue cheese crumbles, green apples, walnuts and dressing (can't remember what kind it was). I had the III Forks Salad and it was phenomenal!! Just the right amount of sweetness and saltiness. Drew had the Silver Fox Salad which had bacon and hard boiled eggs in it. I had a bite of it so I could tell you all that is was great too! Main course... We ordered the Dinner for Two!! Now tell me that is not funny... name of our blog post, name of our dinner. HA!! Ok back to the Dinner for Two: a 12oz filet for the gentleman and a 8oz filet for the lady, sugar snapped peas, whipped potatoes and a choice of 2 sides. We chose broccoli au gratin and creamed corn. For dessert: Cheesecake with a chocolate sauce which we got for free because it was our anniversary. Even better!!
Atmosphere: Romantic, dark, quiet
Service: Excellent! Very friendly and personable. We never wondered where our waitress was.
Price: $Pricey$ but worth is for special occasions. Check out the menu for prices
Taste: Scrumptious!! Yummy!! Food was cooked to perfection.
Likability: We loved it. We obviously won't be going back any time soon or else we would be broke. We left with full bellies and had to be rolled away.
Drew's score: 9
Kelsie's score: 9.5
I would almost rate it a 10 but nobody can be perfect and there is always room for improvement.

Lately...

A lot of this has been going on in our house. Isn't that so cute?! Father daughter bonding. Cuddles, hence the name, will curl up in just about any persons lap and snooze the day away. She loves to sleep!! Cuddles was supposed to be my dog but I think she is a daddy's girl and Hobie is more of a mamma's boy. Funny how things work out.
Good thing you can't hear the snoring!! Cuddles says: "Excuse me, but I'm trying to get my beauty rest!!"

Just in case you are wondering...

The top to your wedding cake after one year tastes like a big bite of NASTY!!! I have been waiting to eat this yummy, strawberry cake for the last year. Sitting in my freezer for the past year, taking up precious freezer space, someone carefully researched for us how to preserve your wedding cake so it would still taste good. It was wrapped in two layers of wax paper, two layers of foil and in a zip-lock baggie, sadly it didn't help. The flowers were left on there and that grossed me out a little bit. They lost the pretty hot pink color they once held and turned brown.
Here is how it went down on April 19, 2009...

Posing... CHEESE.. LOL
Look how scared I look!! HAHA My plan was to shove the cake in Drew's face (and not tell him:) ) since we behaved on our wedding night. I didn't really get to shove the cake in his face that night since I was so worried about what it was going to taste like. I will spare you the details on what happened after this picture.... lets just say my mouth didn't like the way the cake tasted!! Notice my left hand ready to push Drew away... 1. If he was to shove the cake in my face and 2. if the cake tasted like crap!
My wedding cake advice: Don't try to save the top tier to your wedding cake, go get a fresh one remade.

A new addition to our Family- Cuddles
I can't wait to see what other exciting thing that are going to happen to us!! Marriage has turned out to be a lot harder work than I thought but we sure do have a lot of fun. When I think of all the people who have been married for 30+ years I laugh to myself. At this point, I can't really imagine that far ahead. I don't even want to imagine what I'll look like that far from now. I'll just live in the moment and take one day at a time.
Drew and I had a great dinner last night. I won't say where we went yet, I'll save that for a later post. However, I did want to share a story from last night. The restaurant we went to last night asked us what the occasion was when Drew made the reservations and he told them it was our anniversary. A lady overheard our waitress wishing us a happy anniversary, the lady came over to wish us a happy anniversary too and said that it was also her anniversary. We told her that ours wasn't until today and she said that hers was today too! They had been married for 23 years and had 4 children. Her husband gave her a gift at dinner and she opened some sort of gift certificate/paper and was SOOO excited, it was really cute. After all those years I hope to have the same joy and excitement they had.
I couldn't ask for a better husband. Sometimes I wonder how Drew puts up with me. I guess I must be doing something right because he has stuck around for so long. HeHe! Drew makes me so happy and we have so much fun together. Drew, here is to many, many more happy years together!

Don't laugh at me, don't call me names...

Today Hobie got his summer hair cut!! We got it done last year right before me moved into our new house so I didn't have to deal with this hair. This boy is SOOO hairy, we... ahem, I am always sweeping up gobs and gobs of hair and it is just now starting to get warm enough to where we could get Hobie shaved. He gets so hot after running around playing frisbee, I think he really enjoys being shaved. Drew picked him up from the groomer and he got a good report!! She said that he just stood there and watched all the other dogs get their doggie-do's done. :)
Before: Hobie and Cuddles playing earlier this week. My kids are so stinkin cute!

Drum Roll.... Here he is!!!

Sorry for the doggie nudity... we were having a tough photo shoot

"Thanks Mom & Dad, I love my hair cut!!!" Even Cuddles got a bath today, but I don't think she is very grateful.
Tomorrow Drew and I will be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary!!! I can't believe it has already been 1 year- time sure does fly by when you are having fun!! Tonight we are going to dinner to celebrate. Could we possibly have a "Dinner for 2" food review in the works??? Maybe! Next weekend we are going to go to San Antonio to Fiesta (not sure exactly what it is yet... food and fun??) with our friends, Shannon and Michael. We were supposed to be going this weekend but plans changed. Oh well, more celebrating for us!! Got to go get ready for dinner.

Some Catching Up!!

I almost forgot that I hadn't posted pics from POKENO, Logan's birthday party and Easter!! Here are some pictures. Enjoy!

So POKENO was great!! I won 3 times, I won a really cute 4th of July sign, a cute wooden box/basket that was roughed up on the edges, and half of the money pot. YAY! I don't know why I have been so lucky lately... maybe I need to go buy a lottery ticket. HA!

This is a picture from when Drew proposed to me!!! :) Friday, July 20, 2007 Kim and I were having a girls night at Kiln' Time, a ceramic pottery painting studio in Denton. Or so I thought.... Drew had called Kim and set the whole thing up and I didn't have a clue! So we arrived at Kiln' Time, picked out our pieces to paint (Kim was rushing me the entire time!) and the young lady that worked there told us that they would be filming a commercial for the local cable channel and we would have to sign a waiver. I thought it was odd but went ahead and signed. Before we got started painting I had to go to the bathroom so while I was in there I figured I would fix my hair since I was going to be on TV :) We sat down and started painting, one girl was filming us, and another came up to me, set a picture frame on the table and said, "I think you left this frame here last time." All I could think was, I didn't leave anything here, I didn't paint a red frame, that IS how I spell my name.... Then I read it... "KELSIE WILL YOU MARRY ME?" with a picture of an empty ring box. Drew came out(and Mom & sister, Dawn) of the back room with ring in hand and said "I love you so much. Will you marry me?" I was so shocked, shaking and tears, I couldn't think! Some how I muttered, "yes!!!" The commercial and waiver were both a set up just so we could have the entire thing on video!

I tag anyone who reads this. Everyone I would tag has already done this!!

Photo Giveaway!!

Kendall Stoy Photography (my sister-in-law) is giving away a FREE photo session to someone who lives in the DFW area. Head on over to her blog and leave a comment by Friday, April 24th for a chance to win!!

Dinner For 2: Yogurt Story

Well friends, here is the debut of Dinner for 2. Do you like our name and logo?? I LOVE IT!! Thanks Kendall! :)

There is a new Ice Cream shop (or maybe I should say frozen yogurt) in town and you all know how we feel about ice cream. It's our favorite!! I didn't know anything about this place other than driving by and seeing where it was. We HAD to try it out!! This is not a chain as of now, so if you don't live in Denton, TX or in the DFW area you are out of luck. Sorry! I think some of the best places are local Mom & Pop places anyways.

Place: Yogurt Story

(I had to take mine with me since we had somewhere to be... I don't eat as fast as my hubby!)
We arrived at Yogurt Story and we weren't even sure how it all worked. We walked in and we see all these people eating HUGE bowls of yogurt. I thought to myself, "there is NO WAY I can eat that much yogurt. Isn't there a smaller size?" There are no directions that say how to order and the cashier didn't point us in the right direction, but we soon figured it out. You grab a bowl and it is self serve, mix and match however much yogurt you want. There are about 12 different flavors of yogurt, then you go over to the 'salad bar style' of toppings and load up. Set your yogurt on the scale and pay.

Atmosphere: Clean, bright, refreshing, fun, busy for a warm Saturday afternoon
Service: Good. Since it is self serve there is only a need for one employee, the cashier. He wasn't all that willing to help you figure it out considering all customers are brand new, but it didn't take a genius to get it.
Price: $0.32/ounce, very reasonable if you are comparing it to Coldstone!
Taste: Good. I had peanut butter and chocolate yogurt topped with Skor or Heath Bar (no Reese's, very disappointing). I probably would have been ok with out the topping. Drew had Strawberry yogurt topped with fresh strawberries and pineapple chunks. I think his tasted better than mine did and I'm not one for fruity ice cream. They didn't offer syrups as a topping. I was really hoping for some carmel or hot fudge... something.... just fruits, chocolate and nuts. Who knows! Maybe they change it up??

Likability: We liked it. Will it be our new favorite ice cream shop, probably not but I'm sure we will go back. One good thing about yogurt is that it has WAY less calories than ice cream and has live active cultures. That is a plus!

Drew's score: 7
Kelsie's score: 7
