So Many Things

To all my friends, followers and stalkers..... We have so many things to discuss, yet so little time. I would love to make separate posts for all the wonderful things we need to talk about but this post will have to do. So, hang on because we have some catching up to do! :)

I feel like we haven't been home at all lately, which means the laundry that was to get done this weekend is spilling out of hamper onto the floor. I have got to do the laundry tonight or else Drew will be running around without any clothes on. YIKES!

We had a lovely Mother's Day last Sunday. We took mom to breakfast at Old West Cafe. SOOO GOOD!! Brooks, Kendall, Drew & I took family pictures in from of Mom's stone house out on their property. I have been meaning to post those pictures but, yet again, BUSY!! Click here to see the exact post I would post... but on Kendall's blog. Kendall is so amazing, she can even take group pictures with herself in them! :) Love the pictures.. check out Kendall's photography website here.

Let's take a minute and discuss Dad's shirt. If he wears a button down shirt it is almost always plaid, sometimes a solid color. I do have to say I am so very proud of him for wearing this flowered, pearl-snapped shirt. Doesn't he look so cute? Very outside of the box for him. Mom, you look beautiful too!
Next, look at this black beauty! Drew got a new toy about a month ago, he's in love!!

Here we are about to go for a spin with the top off. Now we ride with the doors off too!! I feel a little exposed and pray we don't get hit or we roll over, but overall, it is FUN! It is VERY WINDY but fun on nice sunny days. I bought a special ballcap just for the Jeep. That darn pony wasn't holding all my hair in! Oh, Hobie likes the Jeep too!

Friday I talked Drew in to going for a walk on the Greenbelt (a local state park for trail riding, biking, walking, fishing). Since we were in the Jeep we didn't take much with us because locking it up is pointless... Anywho, we pulled up and it cost $5/person, we didn't have any cash so we drove to a gas station, got $20 out of the ATM, went inside to buy a pack of gum to break the $20 and went back to the Greenbelt. Plus the $3 ATM FEE. LOL!! At this point Drew was not very happy about spending $13 for a walk!!
The walk was very peaceful, you could hear the birdies chirping, water flowing down the river...

Snails slithering away....

Trains a chugging down the track...

A happy husband.....

And yes my friends, A SNAKE!!!!!!!!!! We were walking back and I stopped in my tracks and yelled, "OMG, OMG, OMG!!!" I couldn't even mutter the S-word (Snake that is), Drew finally saw what I was oh-my-goshing about and jumped too. He does not like snakes either I was not about to step over the snake and keep walking so Drew was throwing rocks at the snake and the darn thing would not slither away!!! Finally, Drew pinned the snake down and I ran around it, snapped a few pictures and was paranoid for the rest of the walk back and would only look where my feet went.

Good thing this thing was bright green!! I don't know if I would have seen it if it was brown. Drew said "that was probably the first snake I ever let go without killing." hehe!

This is how scared I was!!!!! EEEKKKK!

Does anyone have a bucket list? I do!! All those wonderful things you want to do before you kick the bucket. I'm so very excited that I got to check one off the list this past weekend. This one was ranked pretty high, I mean WAY up there. I GOT TO SEE THE BEACH BOYS IN CONCERT!!!! WAHOO!!

Kendall and Brooks invited us to go and I couldn't have been more thrilled. We had pretty good seats and the concert was SO AWESOME!! After they sang 2 songs they joked that they had to take an intermission followed by a nap!! Keep in mind, The Beach Boys started in 1961 and only have 2 originals left but it didn't sound any different. Kendall and I might be The Beach Boys youngest fans. We sang our little hearts out to every word.

Notice the 'blue hair' in the background.

The concert was at Winstar Casino in Oklahoma so we had to do a little gambling. Kendall and I weren't too thrilled. I would rather be saving my money for a Coach purse.

Thanks for taking us Kendall and Brooks!

N-a-k-e-d

No, I'm not n-a-k-e-d but I feel like it. I left my cell phone at home today. I hate it when that happens!! I am a paranoid mess!! Mostly because I worry about getting in a wreck or my car breaking down and having nobody to call. What if I get robbed?? Oh my!

Seriously, what did we do before cell phones? They have been around almost my ENTIRE existence. I remember when my dad had the bag phone when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. I didn't get a cell phone until I was 17 so I drove a year without one and did fine. I'm just worrying myself sick. I mean, I don't work close to home. Most of my driving is all highway and rural roads, I hardly have anyone's number memorized... I was broke down on the highway once (with a cell phone) for an hour and NOBODY stopped to help.

I think my next SUV will be a Chevy or GMC so I can have Onstar. At least I would have a back up.

Pray for me!

Ft. Worth Zoo... one week ago!!

Last weekend we went to the Ft. Worth Zoo with our friends Dustin & Lindsey. We got to see everything just before the monsoon hit.
The only picture of all of us with our eyes OPEN!! Sorry so blurry.

Kelsie, how excited are you about going to the Zoo?? Ecstatic!!

Drew, how excited are you to be going to the zoo?? So very excited!!!

Linds & I

Ever wonder what Drew's wing span is??

It is the length of a Turkey Vulture. I don't know what that looks like but it sounds scary!

I knew flamingos stood on one leg, but did you know that they sleep with their knees bent??

So cute and cool!! This swan was nesting!

Scary!!
My favorite... the Kangaroos!!

Gotta love the Elephants!! These big guys were chewing on branches.... well, more like LOGS of wood.
Thanks for inviting us to go to the zoo with ya'll.

OOOOOooooohhhh!!! You are in BIG trouble Mister!!!!

Tonight Drew and I gave the dogs their monthly top-spot flea and tick preventative, PROMERIS (I sell it at work). Anyways, Drew was mowing the front yard and I was to watch the dogs in the back yard so they didn't lick it off or roll around. They like to do that because they can feel it rolling down their back.
Well, ahem..... I got slightly distracted by Facebook... I herd a tapping on the window, I came out of the office to find Drew telling me to "look at MY son!!" Yep, Hobie rolled!!! He didn't try to roll in the grass, he rolled in the Aubrey red dirt that is still slightly muddy from all the rain we've gotten lately. Covered head-to-toe!!
His pretty white chest now stained red. When you apply Promeris you shouldn't bathe your pet for 24-48 hours so it can distribute through all the skin. Hobie, you are going to have to sleep in your kennel tonight. Sorry, Bubba Boy!!

"I didn't do anything!!! I'm a good girl!"

It is hard to see it on the pictures because it is hard to tell the difference between the red dirt and the red hair. He did a pretty good job though!!

San Antonio

Sorry we haven't posted pictures from our trip to San Antonio yet. Let's just say we've been busy and well, not really in the mood for blogging.

Here we go.... We headed down to Austin Friday after work and we were going to stay with our friends Michael and Shannon in Austin BUT they didn't answer their phones when we got to their place, so Drew and I kept driving to San Marcos and got a hotel there. (It's ok Shannon we still love you!!) It was kinda nice because Drew and I had a short drive to San Antonio Saturday morning.
We stayed at a really nice hotel that wasn't far from the River Walk. We visited the Alamo, took a ferry ride on the River Walk, did some shopping at the Mexican market, went to the Fiesta and ate some really good Mexican food.
Hobie is so excited to go spend the weekend with his cousins! Cuddles.. not so excited

Shannon & I on the river boat (the halo Shannon is wearing is part of the Fiesta that everyone was wearing... I wanted one SO bad! LOL)

Miguel & Shannon

At the Alamo

Drew & I on the river boat

Is this not the cutest thing??? When we were on our river boat ride there were ducks EVERYWHERE.. Along came this momma and her 15 little ducklings.
Anyone recognize this? This is where they filmed a scene from Miss Congeniality.

Drew so thrilled to be shopping in San Marcos

Trying to decide if I should buy a Coach purse from the outlet.... I didn't... :( I just couldn't justify spending the money. I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't have a Coach.

So this is a picture from the parade @ Fiesta. I'm still not really sure what exactly Fiesta is. The best way I can describe it would be a Mexican version of Mardi Gras... I think this is their preparation for Cinco de Mayo. All I can say was that it was MADNESS!! TONS and TONS of people filled the streets for blocks. When we arrived in SA around 11 AM people were camped (when I say camped, I mean sleeping, coolers, lawn chairs chained together) out in their lawn chairs waiting for the parade to start at 7 PM. I even saw a store charging $1 for people to use their restrooms!! We couldn't get through the crowd for my funnel cake and had to got down and around a few blocks just to get there... then wait in line 20 minutes.... it was SO worth it!! I mean, how many times a year do you get to eat a funnel cake?!

This is Drew's 6 food 5 inch view in the Mexican market. It was so incredibly crowded too. It probably took us 15 minutes or so just to walk to the other end. I bought a really cool flower pot (I'll get a picture when I get something to plant in it) This is where we at La Margarita. If you are ever in SA I highly recommend you eat there and get the fajitas. SOOO GOOD!!

Michael & Shannon at La Margarita

We had a great time in San Antonio and it was a great extension of our anniversary celebration. I don't know if I would recommend going to Fiesta though... WAY too many people for me.
